Michelle Gahan - The Journey of My Song (EP)
Michelle Gahan is a singer songwriter (folk/country) with background in classical, traditional and choral music. Raised in North East Galway and learned to sing in Ballad Group and choirs. Past member of Ceoltóirí Maghlocha. Church music service soloist and SATB choir member. Performed backing vocals on ' Big Blue Moon' for Singer songwriter Darren Flynn.
Performed at 'The Big Busk' at Heuston station Dublin and Citywest Vaccination Centre and establishments throughout Dublin. Received radio play in Ireland, UK and Australia, and did radio Interviews in Dublin and Galway.
EP 'The Journey of my song' was released in September 2022. Produced by Martin Quinn of Jam Studios. Martin is also an instrumentalist on the EP,
"Just Let You Fo Today" is a beautifully sentimental ode to love and freedom. Sometimes the end also means a new start.
"Read Between The Lines" is a celebration of a kindred spirit that finds you in the time of need. Kindred spirit that, occasionally, might have a different intention than what you expect. Looks can be deceiving. The bittersweetness of this track is captured by the simple instrumentation and Gahan's evocative vocal.
"You Came into My Life" expresses, as the title suggests, gratitude and joy of having that special soul in your life that makes you feel alive. Feelings are pouring out of this track, you cannot listen to it without being moved.
"As Time Goes By" is an upbeat and cheerful song about wishes for the future of a couple in love. Together through thick and thin.
The title track, "The Journey of My Song", slows the tempo down once again, the piano sparkles throughout the song and Gahan's vocal carries all the emotions.
On this collection Gahan presents herself as an artist capable of writing deeply personal songs and presenting them in a way the listener can relate. And her potential keeps growing.
