Daryl Ball - Fractured Pieces (single)

Over the last 20+ years Daryl Ball has earned a reputation as a talented singer/songwriter with the bands Stripped and Bateleurs. Together with these bands he has released several well received albums and EPs as well as performed around the world including such iconic venues as CBGBs in New York, The Ulster Hall in Belfast and Glastonbury Festival. 2018 saw the first of several popular solo releases culminating in a debut solo album Better Days released summer 2019. 2020 continued with more solo work plus performances and recordings with a new duo Turn The Page covering songs spanning the last 25 years. He recorded his EP Everyday People during lockdown.
The latest single Fractured Pieces brings heavier sound than Ball's previous solo releases yet he feels like a fish in the water in it. Nothing overshadows the rest, the steady beat along with the bass are the guiding forces of the track. The lyrics have dark tone, something the listeners are used to hearing in Ball's work. The words than make you think, words that go beyond being just lyrics in the song. Exactly the kind that stays with the listener the longest. The hard and heavy sound only intensifies the impact.
"Always thought you'd had it easy
playing around and being sleazy
not believing you were doing crime"
