Music from the Heart

Aaron J. Burke - Phoenix (single)

Aaron J. Burke is a singer songwriter from Kildare, Ireland. From recording demos in his room, to having frequent airplay on radio stations across his home country and the world. Having grown up with a steady diet of rock music,  he moved into a more acoustic sound in his twenties, inspired by the rich singer songwriter scene in his country. Aaron has been busy preparing his first EP backed up by the latest release, an acoustic song called 'Phoenix'.

Acoustic songs are often raw which makes their impact stronger. Phoenix is no exception. Backed by his guitar where the repetitive melody stands in contrast with the somber tone of the lyrics, Burke's delivery is emotional. You clearly hear him push his voice, yet effortlessly expressing the sentiments within the song. The mythical Phoenix rose from the ashes and as this song progresses, we notice a change in the narrative. The dark aura vanishes and the words tend to convey a message of hope, encouragement, new challenges, new chances. Even the delivery changes and becomes more resolute, almost authoritative, telling us to burn the bridges and start from scratch.

"Smoking crater, pull yourself from the wreckage
Starting from a crawl you'll soon walk again
All that doesn't kill you is only temporary
Nothing worth fighting for was going to be easy"
