Music from the Heart

Co-Living Culture - Renegador (single)

James Vincent McMorrow, David Anthony Curley (Otherkin) and Cody Lee announce new project "Co-Living Culture" in aim to highlight the housing crisis and the destruction of venues in Dublin. Their new single Renegador started out as an incredible amount of fun in the studio one day. This is what they had to say "The more we worked on the song the more we talked about places in Dublin where you might hear a record like this being played. Honestly, we struggled to come up with any. So much has changed in the last 5 years. We are of the opinion that cultural and art places are the beating heart of the city but so many of them have been taken away and replaced with structures that aren't meant for those who occupy the city at all.
Musicians will always figure it out, how to make music, how to play it live. This song is meant as a love letter to that idea. It's a love letter to pure unbridled joy that only music can bring, to dance culture, to 90s house music, to flicking through stations in the car as a kid until an absolute banger comes on, and then turning it all the way up so everyone on the street could hear what you were playing, could hear what the music said about you. Music is culture. Culture lasts forever."

When the track begins and you hear these electronic sounds and beats, you feel either being on a different planet or being transported back in time. Intentional without doubt yet certainly surprising. The infectiously energetic track with a few simple lines is catchy enough to catch you into its web after just one listen. This is a song open for interpretation and playing with listener's imagination. Somewhere in the back of you see a hot summer night in a club as you listen. The rhytm gets in your veins and every cell in your body moves along.
